SERVICE - LEARNING
SPOTLIGHT: Veteran's History Project
The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center collects, preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war.
Spotlight: Panther Pond Conservation Project
Our students are also currently undertaking a conservation project in collaboration with the Cumberland Soil & Water Conservation District by addressing sites with eroding shorelines and walkways where sediment washes directly into the lake. The student-led implementation process consists of defining several walking paths, stabilizing bare soil with erosion control mulch, installing water bars and filtration steps, and stabilizing shorelines around the lake with native plants.
