SPOTLIGHT: Veteran’s History Project

The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center collects, preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war.

Spotlight: The Raymond Community Forest Project

Taking a break along the trail...

Taking a break along the trail...

In partnership with the Loon Echo Land Trust, our students have entered into a long-term ecology and trail building project at the Raymond Community Forest. This 356 acre forest parcel has been purchased by the Loon Echo Land Trust for the purpose of conservation, and for providing outdoor recreational opportunities to the public. Our students mission? Create new hiking trails, maintain existing hiking trails, and engage in ecological studies such as vernal pool monitoring and forestry studies.
