Two of my passions are youth development and the outdoors. I joined AmeriCorps because I get to make a difference in the lives of young adults in the beautiful state of Maine. AmeriCorps gives me the opportunity to work on my strengths and develop new skills to create even stronger communities. I am very thankful for the Katahdin Program and I am looking forward to all the adventures to come!

I grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Maine to study at the University of Maine. I fell in love with Maine so much that I wanted to stay after graduation. Working at the Katahdin Program has been an amazing way to combine my interests in volunteering, mentoring, and science education - as well as a great way to expand my experiences with adventure-based counseling and leadership. I have loved my experiences so far with the Katahdin Program students and staff. This is truly a unique and valuable program!

After graduating from the University of Cincinnati I decided to join Americorps. When searching for an organization to join, I stumbled upon the Katahdin program and fell in love with the idea of an adventure based alternative high school. After speaking with Rich I thought the program would be a perfect fit. Within a week of my year long term with Americorp, I knew that I made the right decision. The Katahdin School is a special program with an amazing staff and extraordinary students and I am truly honored to be apart of it.
